"My sister was diagnosed on August 15, 2025 with bone cancer. She has already been out of work for 2 weeks because of severe pain and waiting for test results. She not only works behind the chair but is also the salon owner. She will be out of work for at least 21 weeks.
My sister has been a stylist since 1992 and also owns her salon. She is only 56 years old and has 2 adult children and a wonderful husband who is alos self-employed. She will be undergoing both chemo and radiation and will most likely need surgery because she also now has some fractured vertebrae and ribs. She is in severe pain and has a very long road ahead of her. My sister and her husband are both self-employed and he is doing everything he can to help her, but with both of them missing work, any help that is available would be greatly appreciated.
I am just praying that she is strong enough to get through all of this."
"I was recently diagnosed with adenmyosis and possible endometriosis after experiencing 3 miscarriages. I need to go in for surgery in October to explore for endometriosis and undergo a hysterectomy. I have been in pain for the past 3 years due to the illness and have still pushed through working. My husband and I got married two years ago and he is a step father to my two children, 9 and 13. In the midst of all of this, our home flooded due to recent storms. I never usually ask for help, but I don't want my family and I to have more stress than necessary during this time."
